IGP orders digital issuance of tinted glass permit nationwide

Police Arrest Woman For Allegedly Poisoning 65-Year-Old Man To Death In Service Apartment in Lagos

T he Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old woman, Mrs. Adeola Adewale, for allegedly poisoning a 65-year-old man, identified as Mr. Adebayo, to death in a service apartment in the Abule-Egba area of Lagos State. According to a press statement issued by the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the incident occurred on March 27, 2025, when Adeola and Mr. Adebayo rented a service apartment together.   However, a few hours later, Adeola reportedly left the apartment with the deceased’s car and personal belongings, telling the housekeeper she would return shortly. Meanwhile, during a routine check the following day, March 28, 2025, the lifeless body of Mr. Adebayo was discovered inside the apartment.   Investigators recovered an empty syringe, two empty cans of malt drink, and two bottles of water at the scene, raising suspicions of foul play. Police Declared Me Wanted Without Invitation - ABC Transport Owner’s Daughter Cries Out

  A 34-year-old  Ihuoma Julia Nneji , daughter of Frank Nneji, the owner of ABC Transport, has alleged that she was declared wanted by the Nigeria Police Force without ever receiving an invitation, notification, or being informed of any petition against her.   Nneji’s name and photograph were recently published in a Special Police Gazette Bulletin issued by the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) in Abuja.    She is accused of criminal defamation, injurious falsehood, and cyberstalking. However, she insists the allegations are baseless and stem from a personal vendetta by her former fiancé, Henry Uzochukwu. ‘Stop misleading the public’ – China slams US over Trade Talks

The Chinese foreign ministry has urged the United States to stop “misleading the public” on bilateral tariff negotiations, saying it wasn’t familiar with reports on whether Beijing was planning to exempt tariffs on some US imports. A spokesperson for the ministry, Guo Jiakun, said this on Friday at a press briefing. “The United States and China are not engaged in consultations or talks on the tariff issue,” Guo said On Thursday, US President Donald Trump stated that trade talks between the two countries were underway, after both China’s foreign ministry and commerce ministry denied such negotiations. Suspected herdsmen kill seven in Benue midnight attack

Seven people, including women and children, were confirmed killed and several others missing in fresh attack by armed herders on Agbo Vengav community of Udam in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State State. DAILY POST gathered that the fresh killings occurred around 1:00 am Friday  morning when the gunmen suspected to be herdsmen launched an attack on the community. A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said a little girl child was killed while her mother was taken away by the Fulani herdsmen and till now her whereabouts remained unknown. The sources further said the assailants came in the middle of the night when people had retired to bed and started attacking the community. “The attack on the community started around 1:00 am on Friday; the number of bodies recovered was seven and  a search for missing people was still ongoing,” a source hinted. A judge has ordered President Donald Trump’s administration to restore funding to Voice of America and other U.S.-funded media, saying its abrupt shutdown broke the law. The federal judge in Washington agreed to a request by the outlets’ employees for a preliminary injunction, a temporary order that would allow the court to examine the legal challenge in greater depth. Trump, who has long jostled with the press and questioned the editorial rules that prohibit interference in government-funded media, issued an executive order on March 14 to eliminate the outlets. The following day, Kari Lake, his firebrand supporter turned advisor, began issuing notices to terminate all funding, which was appropriated by Congress. Air Peace, foreign airlines suspend flights amid Aviation crisis

Flight operations were disrupted across the country yesterday following the strike embarked upon by staff of the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet) which entered its third day today (Thursday). Already the strike has started taking a toll on airlines’ operation with Air Peace announcing the suspension of its flights nationwide with immediate effect leaving many passengers stranded at the airport. Three industry unions, the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Services Employees (AUPCTRE) and Association of Nigeria Aviation Professionals (ANAP), declared the strike. The unions, in a circular to their members, stated that they had made efforts to alleviate the “exceedingly unjust remunerations conundrum” with no substantial result”, adding that the staff had been plunged into poverty. Ice Prince made this disclosure during an interview with Nigerian content creator, Isbaeu, on the ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’, podcast. Ice Prince described M. Nine Nigerian banks generate N14tn in revenue from customer’s interest in 2024

Nine Nigerian banks generated a combined interest income of N14.26 trillion in 2024. This is according to an analysis of the audited financial results of the financial institutions. In contrast, the manufacturing sector, referred to as the real sector, laments increasing operational costs amounting to a combined figure of N2.5 trillion in 2024 alone. An analysis of the audited financial results of First Holdco, Guaranty Trust Holding Company, Zenith Bank Plc, United Bank for Africa, FCMB Group, Fidelity Bank, Stanbic IBTC Holdings, Access Holdings, and Wema Bank filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) showed revenue earned from interest in the nine banks in the 2024 financial year rose by 119.55 percent to N14.26 trillion compared to N6.49 trillion in 2023. A breakdown of the results of the nine banks showed that Access Holdings grew its interest income by 98.69 percent to N3.11 trillion from N1.56 trillion in the previous year.   Ogwashi Uku community in Aniocha south council area of  Delta State  has been thrown into confusion following the abduction of four children. Reports from the area said residents of Umuokwe quarters are pointing accusing fingers on three women who secured an emergency accommodation in the neighborhood last Monday. The children are 6-year-old girl, Ebube Nwafido and her sister Miracle, aged three, both of the same parent and two other girls, Chimanda, seven year, and Excel, alias Tinubu, five years, also of another parent. Two pastors rescued from Friday’s attack on worshippers in Kogi

Two victims of last Friday’s attack on worshippers on the Akpamoba-Igbola prayer mountain in the Agbaja area of Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State have been rescued, the state Police Command has confirmed. ASP William Aya, the command’s spokesman, who confirmed the rescue of the victims, identified them as Pastors Adura Kayode and Kingsley Ebong of the City of Grace Prophetic Liberation Church. The spokesman further explained that the rescued pastors had been reunited with their families, saying that security operatives are still combing the forest in the area to rescue more of the abducted worshippers. President Bola Tinubu has approved the release of N120 billion to the Federal Ministry of Education to advance the ministry’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) agenda. This came as the federal government prepares to empower at least 650,000 youths with the technical, vocational and digital skills required to meet emerging industrial and labour needs. Herdsmen kill 144 in Plateau, Benue in 14 days

  No fewer than  144 persons  have been killed by herdsmen in the two north central states of Plateau and Benue states in the last two weeks, as the blood-letting continued late Tuesday, with the killing of at least 13 persons, while scores of others sustained injuries, with over 50 houses razed. Recall that within the period, 104 persons, comprising 52 in Bassa local government area and another 52 in Bokkos LGA of Plateau State, were killed by the marauding herdsmen, while at least 40 were also killed in Benue State. EFCC to arraign 47 for Internet fraud in Edo

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission says it would arraign no fewer than 47 suspects arrested for alleged involvement in Internet fraud in Benin, Edo State. The commission disclosed this in a statement on its Facebook page on Tuesday. According to the antigraft agency, the suspects were arrested following credible intelligence about their activities. It added that cars, mobile phones, and laptops were recovered from the suspects. T he police in Niger State have arrested a motor boy in connection with the driver who is now at large, for diverting 900 bags of cement , originally made to be delivered in Maiduguri, Borno State.  The police in a statement on Monday said the arrest occurred on 5th April 2025, around 9:30am, when a police surveillance patrol team from Bosso Division intercepted a trailer truck with registration number NDG 161 XA at Garima Junction, Bosso. The trailer, loaded in Obajana, Kogi State, was diverted to Garima Bosso, where it was intended to be sold illegally.
